We offer the first introductory lesson for free. This is an opportunity to discuss your goals and the music you love. We can then plan your lessons which are offered at the following rates.

60 minutes: £40

30 minutes: £25

Block of 6 × 60 minute lessons: £225

We recommend one lesson per week, but if you’d like to increase or decrease the frequency we’d be happy to arrange.

We welcome all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players looking to push themselves. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss how we might help you.

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email james@southlondonguitarlab.com

We aim to get back to you within the same day.

We teach all styles with a particular focus on rock, metal, blues, jazz, funk, country and acoustic.

We have an extensive syllabus of materials that we can guide you through, but what we really want to do is hear from you about the music you love, your heroes, the type of player you want to be, and how we can build your lessons so that we make it as fun as possible.

You can find further details on what we can teach you here.

I started teaching guitar in 2005 and have taught many wonderful students over the years. My gigging background is in originals and covers bands mostly playing rock / metal, but I’ve taught most styles of music to my students. I started my career in the music gear industry and have more recently worked as a guitar technician alongside my teaching.

I am registered with the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT).
